About
Our blog started when I went to visit Elijah down in Guatemala March 2007. For some crazy reason, I thought I would have both internet access easily accessible and the time to actually blog, but that didn’t happen. I don’t update as often I’d like and Fran just fizzled out, but that’s life
We’ll try to keep everyone up-to-date with all our doings as best we can.
Fran and I have been together almost 8 years. Crazy! We have a great, solid relationship and talk about everything! I think we actually exhaust ourselves with our over-analytical brains
Our family and friends are incredibly important to us and we try to see them as often as we can. This is pretty tough considering we did a rough count of our family members the other day and I think we just about hit 100!
Elijah Kayin Fernando (aka Papa, PeePaw, ’lij, Guatemalan Jumping Bean, PaPo, Guisano, Peepers, the list goes on and on) came into our lives November 20, 2006 (our referral date) and we’ve been hooked on him ever since! He has brought so much joy to our lives and to those of our family and friends. Elijah is our bouncing ball of happiness. He’s got a great sense of humor and seems quite playfully mischievous. We love teaching him new things and seeing him discover the world around him.
Currently, I am working part-time from home to spend some quality time with Elijah. It’s a crazy, hectic life balancing cleaning, cooking, exercising, Elijah-time, Fran-time, and squeezing at least 20 hours of work in a week, but it is soooo worth it. After several years of TTC and 2 miscarriages, we are now expecting Baby #2. Elijah’s brother, Nathanael Boston Alejandro, is due December 24, 2008.
Why T&L? As it turns out, Fran’s grandfather and a friend of his, Torres, owned and operated a restaurant in downtown San Antonio (where Planet Hollywood is now) before Fran was born. It was called the T&L - some things were just meant to be! Bleh! I know, I know.
Update: So our blog name isn’t T&L any more… We are now Love, Joy, & Laughter. Not to be too gushy, but Fran and I feel so blessed to have the life we share together as well as with all of our family and friends. We have so much love, joy and laughter in our lives and we worked hard to get here. We did get this title from a Dixie Chicks song. It just seemed appropos.
